If you are preparing for your first appointment at our practice, welcome! Your first appointment will probably consist of an oral exam and consultation appointment. This allows your surgeon to thoroughly review your condition, dental history, and medical history before forming your treatment plan. These factors, along with your overall goals from treatment, will all be taken into account before your treatment is planned. If additional X-rays or 3D imaging is needed, your surgeon may take these at your consultation appointment. In most cases, you will return to the office at a later date for your actual procedure.
A referral from your general dentist or physician is often how patients find our office, but referrals are not required for you to schedule a visit. Feel free to contact us anytime.
Please bring the following to your first appointment:
- Your referral paperwork and any X-rays that were given to you by your referring doctor (This may be sent ahead of time by your doctor, if applicable)
- A list of any current medications or medical conditions
- Any medical and/or dental insurance information
Patients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Your pre-operative consultation appointment is also a good time to discuss any questions or concerns you have before surgery. Your surgeon will also explain your specific procedure and anesthesia instructions during this appointment.
Thank you for taking the time to review this information. If you have any questions before your appointment, feel free to contact our office. One of our staff members will be happy to help.
