Full-Arch Restoration

Complete Smile Transformation With Immediate Results

Missing many or all of your teeth can dramatically impact the way you eat and your confidence. At Arizona Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, we offer a remarkable treatment called full-arch restoration to immediately transform your smile. By restoring all of your teeth, you can feel great about your smile, eat comfortably, and prevent oral health complications associated with missing teeth.

Our practice offers the advanced Straumann® Pro Arch Fixed Solution to provide immediate results using a high-grade implant system. If you have many missing or failing teeth, or if you currently wear dentures and desire a more convenient solution, contact us today. Dr. Wood, Dr. Coles, Dr. Saghafi, and Dr. Holbrook offer full-arch restoration in Tucson, Oro Valley, and Sahuarita, AZ, and will create a custom treatment plan based on your individual needs.

What Is Full-Arch Restoration?

Full-arch restoration involves using four or more dental implants to support a fixed denture in one or both arches. This treatment is ideal for patients missing all of their teeth or who currently wear removable dentures and seek a more comfortable, healthier, long-term solution. Full-arch restoration is more cost-effective than replacing teeth with single implants, which means less healing time for the patient. In some instances, the procedure can be completed in a single outpatient procedure, allowing you to enjoy your new teeth sooner.

Straumann Pro Arch

At Arizona Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, we use the Straumann Pro Arch system for full-arch restoration cases. This system allows your oral surgeon to customize everything about your restoration, including the dental implant posts, abutments, and final prosthesis. We are able to provide an immediate fixed solution for patients, delivering a final result that is both functional and aesthetically outstanding. Straumann is a global leader in premium tooth replacement solutions and we proudly offer this state-of-the-art system to our patients. Learn more on the official Straumann website.

The Benefits of Full-Arch Restoration

Full-arch restoration offers the stability and health benefits of dental implants along with a beautiful, healthy smile. Key benefits of this life-changing tooth restoration treatment include:
Easier eating without dentures slipping or creating sores
Fully taste foods with no denture covering your palate
Smile confidently with natural-looking replacement teeth
Preserve bone structure and support muscles and lips around teeth
Prevent loss of underlying jaw bone
No special care necessary—simply brush and floss your teeth twice a day
Patients who want the coverage of dentures with the security of implants will find that full-arch restoration is the perfect solution. If you are healthy enough to undergo outpatient dental procedures and have enough jaw bone to support dental implants, you are likely a candidate for full-arch restoration. If you lack sufficient jaw bone, we can use bone grafting techniques to restore lost bone. Once the grafts healed, you will be able to receive dental implants.

Full-Arch Restoration Procedure

Before the Procedure

First, you will come into our office for a consultation appointment. Dr. Robert Wood, Dr. Nicholas Coles, Dr. Negin Saghafi, and Dr. Jerome Holbrook will evaluate your condition, take 3D scans of your mouth, and determine if full-arch restoration is right for you. Most patients undergo IV sedation for this procedure, but we will discuss all of your options for anesthesia or sedation.

During the Procedure

We will administer the anesthesia and your surgeon will surgically place the dental implants into your mouth. The details of your surgery are created beforehand, so your surgeon knows the exact location and angle to place the implants for optimal results. When undergoing IV sedation, you will be in a semi-conscious state unable to feel pain. Many patients wake up when the anesthesia wears off with no memory of the surgery.

The surgical procedure will last between 1–4 hours. A temporary prosthesis will be placed and fixed to the implants, but sometimes a temporary removable conventional denture will be necessary while your implants heal. In both instances, you will leave the office with a new smile.

After the Procedure

Once the procedure is over, you will rest until the anesthesia wears off and your designated driver will take you home. If your prosthesis was not placed during the surgical visit, you will return after a few weeks to have the final prosthesis attached. It will take a few months for the implant posts to fully fuse to the jaw bone. You should eat a soft diet as directed by your surgeon until your surgical sites heal. Once healed, you will be able to eat your favorite foods again with the convenience and durability of a secure, healthy set of teeth.

Types of Anesthesia

We offer a variety of anesthesia choices to ensure a comfortable oral surgery experience.
