Soft foods are generally recommended while the extraction site begins to heal. Your surgical team will provide instructions about foods and drinks to avoid and when you can gradually return to your normal diet.
Dry socket can occur when the blood clot protecting an extraction site is lost or disrupted before healing has progressed sufficiently. Following your post-operative instructions can help reduce the risk and support proper healing.
